Winter Solstice and the Cycle of Manifestation, Sun and Saturn in Capricorn By Cosmic Lady Six

I am sitting here writing this blog after a full week of doing some amazing Tarot and Astrology readings during what has been one of the most intense and transformative periods for so many people.

One of the things that I have loved so far since I began reading cards and doing birth charts is seeing how in sync we all are to the planetary shifts. Before I get into how you can benefit with the Sun and Saturn entering Capricorn season, I just want to thank everyone who has gotten a reading from me thus far and during such a pivotal time in all of our lives. Just know, if you are reading this, everyone has been going through it this year. Big changes have taken place, the dust is clearing, the path is aligning, it is time for us to emerge like the Butterfly and spread our wings come 2018.

Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius is officially over this week on December 23rd and by now we should be feeling like we have a better idea of what we want to let go of before we enter 2018. A lot of you have relocated, started or quit a new job,, started or ended a relationship, had a baby, a wedding, you name it- this was the year to have some major life changes.

As the year closes we have been forced to evaluate our values and ask ourselves “is this who I am meant to be, and is this what I want to be doing?” If you are in the place of saying “ Yes” to your life right now, chances are you are feeling pretty stoked and optimistic about 2018. For those of you who have been struggling with the energy at play in your life, it may be time to surrender and let what is going to happen, happen.

Capricorn season is just around the corner and before I get into talking about the Sun and Saturn, I want to shed some light onto Pluto, who has been in Capricorn since January of 2008.

I had a revelation this month in my understanding of Pluto transits after doing some birth charts this Fall and want to share my theory I came up with as I feel it will help everyone understand the nature of the cycle we are in.

Pluto stays in a sign for 14 years. The end of 2015 was marking the midpoint of this cycle of Pluto in Capricorn. Capricorn rules the body as well as our physical world, and when Pluto is transiting Capricorn in our charts, we can go through a large period of transformation within our careers as well as our own physical relationship to ourselves- it really just depends on where Capricorn is in your chart to know how it is effecting you.

But either way- when we hit the midpoint of Pluto in Capricorn in 2015- things started to really take a huge turn- politically as well as personally. We had a lot of celebrity deaths at the beginning of 2016- and the Sun was hitting this transit - Sun- Pluto transits have a lot to do with deaths in our world. A lot of people saw 2016 as the worst year ever, I remember people feeling similarly about 2015.

Now that we are on the other side of this midpoint our lives are taking drastic turns. Pluto is the planet of death, rebirth, and transformation. It would make sense that during the midpoint of this cycle- we would experience the most transformation in our lives.

This is where the Sun and Saturn come in and enhance this energy- the Sun will enter Capricorn on December 22nd which will bring in a shift of consciousness into our physical world. This coincides with Mercury retrograde ending. Two days before on December 20th, Saturn will be entering Capricorn for the first time in 28 years, sparking a whole new Saturn Return cycle for the Saturn in Capricorn generation. Saturn stays in a sign for about 2 ½ years and has about a 28 ½ year cycle around the Sun- so every 27-29 years someone has their Saturn return. So those who have been having their Saturn return with Saturn being in Sagittarius may begin to feel a weight lifted as their Saturn return comes to an end.

So what does this all mean? Well with Saturn joining Pluto in Capricorn- we will begin to see a lot of what has changed this year become more grounded and solidified. Saturn represents structure and bringing things into form- it rules Capricorn and shares a relationship to the Devil card in the Tarot.  We can feel oppressed and blocked by Saturn energy, but when it is in its home sign of Capricorn, the energy is actually really helping us manifest things into our lives we may have been working on for some time. This is going to be the time where we need to allow the most change to happen in our physical world, but also allow the most structure.

I foresee a lot of things we have been chipping away at in the past year finally begin to gain momentum during this cycle.

It will be important that we learn and accept the importance of rules and structure into our lives. Those of us who have been ungrounded in life may begin to find our footing again in the next two years. Because Pluto will still be here- we are not totally finding stability, but we may feel like our ability to manifest transformation can be done in a more grounded and structured way instead of it feeling so chaotic like it has been this year and years prior.

For those who are beginning their Saturn return ( I am one of those people) this will be an interesting time for you to really come into yourself and your own idea and perceptions on the structures within your life and how you use them to pursue your goals. If you are in a place of rebelling against growth and getting older or more domestic in your life this Saturn return cycle will be difficult, as Saturn is meant to whip us in line and get us more prepared for a more “adult” approach to life. If we are on top of our finances, work life, home life, and routines, than the Saturn return can enhance our ability to manifest good things on all fronts.

Capricorn is a great goal setting energy. It is Cardinal Earth energy and all about making things happen on the material planes. Capricorn and Saturn rule the 10th house which is the house of career and community. Capricorn energy really helps us bring our strengths out into the world. This energy is going to help a lot of us accomplish our dreams on the material front with money and work.

Venus will be joining the Capricorn party with the Sun, Pluto and Saturn on Christmas Day, December 25th. This should bring love, beauty, and abundance into our physical realm, and really give us a great energy after the stress we have endured during this Retrograde period. The end of December is going to be pleasant and we will enjoy time with family and friends before 2018 arrives. 2018 is going to have some intense and heavy energy right out of the gate, so we may want to really allow ourselves to kick back and enjoy the last couple weeks of the year before we begin feeling the next large shift in consciousness.

The best way to plan for the New Year would be to use this Capricorn cycle to set intentions for what we want in 2018 with vision boards, goal setting, and prosperity Magick.

You can begin your rituals Thursday December 21st on the Midwinter Solstice.

The Winter Solstice, also known as Yule, was a Pagan tradition celebrating the middle point of Winter. We welcome the death cycle during this time and the act of gift giving is a symbol of celebrating life and sharing the harvest from the Autumn Solstice. The Ancient Egyptians as well as Hindus celebrated this cycle around and on December 25th. The Christian interpretation of this tradition is not nearly as old as what had already been practiced for thousands of years prior.  Feel free to take what you want from different religions and honor this day the way that feels in line to your own personal beliefs. You do not have to be Christian to celebrate this holiday if you are doing it to honor the Earth and Sun.

The main point of celebrating this time of year is to honor the Sun and be thankful for what we have and what the Earth provides to us. We are supposed to be honoring the darkness and the death and rebirth that Winter represents and welcome another year of learning and growth.

The best thing you can do to help yourself manifest more abundance into your life for the New Year as well,  is to do a ritual that centers around gratitude for what you have already as well as seeing what areas of your life you can give more of yourself to. A lot of times when we wish we had more in our life, we need to learn how to let go of what we have and give from a place where we do not expect anything in return. When we learn to be more comfortable with giving from a genuine place whether physical things or energetic things, we tend to allow more to come into our lives, because we are not focused on receiving. Focusing on receiving only, or only giving based on whether you are receiving will create a victim/martyr dynamic and can bring more conditional love into our lives, vs. the unconditional love we all crave from others. In order to manifest what we want in our lives, we must become what we wish to see. If you wish to see more love, more money, more abundance, you must live as if you are already living in that reality, and give from the heart.

It is also said that the first Full Moon of the year is the best time for Prosperity Magick, so if you want to do a Yule celebration but save your Prosperity spell for the first Full Moon of the year which will be on January 2nd in Cancer. I would personally recommend doing a Prosperity/Goal setting spell before the Full Moon- on the Midwinter Solstice and then another one on the Full Moon on the 2nd.

MidWinter Yule Ritual for Gratitude and Manifestation

  • Santa Muerte and/or Virgin de Guadalupe fixed candle - or 7 powers
  • Capricorn fixed candle (optional)

  • Frankincense and Myrrh incense
  • Poinsettia
  • Mistletoe
  • Pyrite
  • Gold
  • Garnet
  •

    Instructions:

    Step 1:

Set up your altar, make sure you are wearing something festive, white is a good color to wear for this ritual.

    Step 2:

Open your circle and invoke the 4 corners.

    Step 3:

Say a prayer asking for what you wish to be bestowed onto the world, yourself, and those you love.

    Step 4:

Do Tarot reading included in this article.

    Step 5:

Once you have done the Tarot reading you will want to write a goal list of what you wish to manifest in this next cycle as well as what you hope will manifest for this you love. Make a list of all the people in your life you want good luck and abundance to go to. You will put this list under your fixed candle and keep under until the candle burns completely out.

    Step 6:

If you are doing this ritual with friends, you will want to share your lists and once you have all shared you will want to say “So mote it be” and close your circle.

I hope this helped shed some light on what to expect during Capricorn season, I hope you all have a wonderful Winter Solstice and Happy Holidays!

    Blessed Be,

    Cosmic Lady Six
